The Separatory Funnel 6 Liter comes with a Sep Funnel Cap 45 that has improved recessed port for increased velocity when self mixing. The application, with vacuum, will launch the washing solution into the loaded solution and properly mix them without ever having to remove the funnel from the stand. The Extraction Finder is a real-time molecular monitoring system for botanical extraction, which is essential for consistently maximizing the amount of extracted compounds within a given plant material. This robust model will serve hydrocarbon and ethanol extractions. Not rated for use with C02 extractions. The robust housing, which fully encloses the molecular sensor, can be easily installed in-line in the extraction design on sanitary flange end clamps. A 30′ sensor cable feeds this information to a high-quality touch-screen, which displays real-time levels of Cannabinoids, Chlorophyll and Lipids. The Extraction Finder’s digital readout can be used to help operators learn about and dial-in their process, such as optimizing flow rate, solvent amount, filter efficiency, and general quality assurance and control. Lack of objectivity during the extraction process
The purpose of botanical extraction processes, regardless of solvent used, is essentially to introduce a solvent to the biomass that will bind to, strip, and help obtain as much of the desirable compounds as possible. However, extraction operators have no solid metric to base their success on, aside from color in sight glasses or laboratory testing. While observing color can be done in-line, it is a subjective metric at best. While lab results are an objective metric, it is nearly impossible to correlate in practice and can take days or even weeks to obtain after a run. While both of these are helpful techniques that should be utilized during the process, they should not be solely relied upon since they lack real-time objectivity. Subjective monitoring that is based on perception or guesswork is imprecise, inconsistent, and difficult to scale. What is the effect of this lack of molecular monitoring during extraction? Batches that are sub-optimally extracted, resulting in either low yields or potency, and even wasted solvents and time. Examples of Applications The most popular applications of the Extraction Finder are hydrocarbon and ethanol extraction. The system can be installed in-line on extractors where there are 1.5” or 2” sanitary flange connections. Multiple units can be placed at multiple points of the extraction design. Hydrocarbon extraction: The unit can be installed in-line between the material column and collection column. Pre-filtration or CRC, the unit’s live data can help you determine what flow rate optimizes both solvated mass & time. Post-filtration or CRC, it can confirm that Chlorophyll is not making it past the filter. Ethanol extraction: The unit can be installed in-line at the recirculation area. It can be used to determine solvent saturation by seeing when the solvent has absorbed the majority of Cannabinoids. This head comes equipped with 45/50 thermoport, 34/45 discharge port and a 100mm bore that secures to a boiling flask with o-ring and clamp. The Short Path Distillation Head Bertha 100 (previously SPD-4 MPD Big Bertha) is an extremely high vapor fractionation column head. The first section starts in the flask to retain as much heat in the column as possible. This entire column and entry into flask is isolated from the outside air and the flange fittings. The first chamber is a rough fractionation chamber with a lower rejection section that prevents any condensate from moving upwards. HB series heads are inspired by our patented fraction collector technology paired with a larger flanged bore. Short Path Distillation Head HB1 150 comes equipped with 34/45 discharge port and a 150mm bore that secures to a boiling flask with o-ring and clamp. The Short Path Distillation Head HB1 150, or previously MPD (modified path distillation), was created for one of our testers Breaking Dabs aka Heisenberg. With his unique skills he has helped us tune the HB series heads to evolve and provide solutions for our users. HB1 is designed to be ultra selective to evacuate all previous fractions before the main body without letting the main body through. With some temp, main body can come out extremely fast and this head can be used as a first pass head. It is very effective in removing heads fractions while retaining main body components. Vigs are not needed for this technology due to the industry first "no-vig" approach which utilizes a baffled section that extends down below the head base and into the boiling flask. The Ultra Short Path Distillation Head (previously SPD-7) is a fascinating technology inspired by an ultra low temperature process. The Summit research SPD-7 is a horizontal head designed to fully refine products at a low temperature; preferred material required should be refined previously, or physically refined through all filtration and washing/chroma processes prior to running through this system. Material must be completely dried and full vacuum cannot be engaged if material is wet. Do not attempt to load green/black crude material. This system requires much more vacuum requirement so please keep in mind the 22 liter system takes a diffusion, and the 5 liter system can use dual e2m28/30.
