This is an additional package to the original Hochstrom high flow filtration unit. It comes with one plate, one ring and one tall tube cut for dual plate arrangement (The cut is double sized to allow two plates). Adding another plate will refine your product even more and save you that extra run, thus cutting your time in half. The original Hochstrom Filter ™ comes with single plate arrangement. Reflux condensers are used in “conversion” processes to cool the vapor molecules emitted from heated oils to change their gaseous state back into liquid by means of a chilled dual coil. This unit is recommended for 12L and smaller boiling flasks. How it works: The condenser is attached to the boiling flask joint and is secured in a vertical position. Chiller fluid is circulated through the coil to cause the vapors to condense as they rise up through the condenser coils thus preventing them from escaping. This gives you the option to reflux different fluids in your boiling flask for extended periods of time before you run the SPD, this is a must have in the lab for conversions. Reflux condensers are used in “conversion” processes to cool the vapor molecules emitted from heated oils to change their gaseous state back into liquid by means of a chilled triple coil. This unit is recommended for 22L and larger boiling flasks. How it works: The condenser is attached to the boiling flask joint and is secured in a vertical position. Chiller fluid is circulated through the coil to cause the vapors to condense as they rise up through the condenser coils thus preventing them from escaping. This gives you the option to reflux different fluids in your boiling flask for extended periods of time before you run the SPD, this is a must have in the lab for conversions. The Short Path Distillation Head Bertha 100, since development in 2018, has become one of the leading standards in distillation head types in the industry. 2023 has brought the Bertha 100 to its final perfect form with 6 generations of evolution. This head comes equipped with 45/50 thermoport, 34/45 discharge port and a 100mm bore that secures to a boiling flask with o-ring and clamp. The Short Path Distillation Head Bertha 100 (previously SPD-4 MPD Big Bertha) is an extremely high vapor fractionation column head. The first section starts in the flask to retain as much heat in the column as possible. This entire column and entry into flask is isolated from the outside air and the flange fittings.
