  • The Apollo Proportional Vacuum Controller is an advanced scientific laboratory vacuum controller, display, digital readout, and vacuum live reading analysis device. This version of the Apollo can service up to FOUR REMOTE vacuum sensors of any kind with up to FOUR REMOTE vacuum valves that are controlled by the Digi-Vac dinamo proportional live CFM control valve. KF25 flanges, barbed breather valve. This device is essential for high speed rotary evaporation control and crucial for controlling and even increasing recovery rates on falling film evaporation machines. Those might be the top two, but the possibilities are rising with new tech that have KF25 fitment. The device has a continuous CFM open-close valve that never actually stops moving. Typically it will not close but the effect is reached with the ability to increase or decrease CFM size allowing to maintain vacuum select point control. If the set point comes up, it will close the valve. If the set point goes down it will open the valve. Typically very minute movements inside make a huge performance difference and increase in vacuum pump performance allowing continual cfm-to-micron control. This Apollo controller can be expanded but comes with ONE EXTERNAL COUPLED device standard. This is an Apollo brain unit with a chemical duty touch screen, with remote valve/sensor. Standard options are as follows:
    • The first board location is equipped by summit with one sensor designed for aggressive solvent use and one proportional valve (dinamo valve).
Further up-gradable options are as follows:
    • Three more slots are available to accept up to three more sensors and three more valves.
    • The additional optional upgrade is only several hundred dollars for each additional proportional valve control added-on.  any length cable can be used, please inform us for a specialty need with longer cables than what is supplied.
This unit is not the same as Apollo Vacuum Controller

  • The Fraction Finder Ultra Sensitive figures out where components start and stop flowing to optimize separation. Making the SPD Process more precise and repeatable, Fraction Finding helps take the guess work out. Someone running a distillation can make better decisions if they knew exactly where they were in the distillation process. Scientists have developed expertise in this area to the point where they know what to expect. The Summit Research Fraction Finder does that for you and will be your best friend in short path distillation. Included with:
    • Ultra Sensitive sensor
    • Mounting hardware
    • Display screen
    • Light-blocking tape

Through innovative live distillate monitoring, Fraction Finding can help increase potency on every distillation pass. Now, you can forget the old ways of relying on guesswork and eyesight, and instead, identify the contents of a flow through a glass tube in real time. The Fraction Finder Ultra Sensitive package is unique in that - not only does it serve distillation and extraction processes - but also serves Chromatography, Conversion Reaction, and other processes that require more extreme detection. For certain processes, highly sensitive process monitoring is essential. Generally speaking, the more solvent involved in the process means the more sensitive the sensor needs to be. With that in mind, the ULTRA was created. If you have the original Fraction Finder, you have the option to upgrade to a standalone ULTRA Sensor for $1,350. Please call us for more details. Use this sensor on any chromatography column with the GL18 to #34 adapter. The Fraction Finder Sensor #34 consists of an optical light pulse and detector, acting as “the eyes” of the system. It wraps around a distillation/chromatography setup tube and connects to the Fraction Finder display to track important data on the process.
    • Fraction Finder optical sensor with ultra-sensitive detector
    • Magnetic locking mechanism
    • Anodized aluminum apertures
    • 90° strap rotation
    • Currently only available in size 34
    • Validated by Arometrix for use on distillation systems
    • Currently being tested on reverse-phase chromatography processes

Information common with all Fraction Finder sensors

These sensors are black for a reason:
    • Black absorbs all light while blocking out ambient light.
    • This leads to better signaling and the most valid data possible transmitting to the Fraction Finder display.
    • For example, a white sensor wouldn’t work because it would reflect the light into your glassware and into the sensor, harming the reading.
    Chemical Resistant
    • This reduces any degradation from solvents, crude oils, extracts, etc..
    • This protects the sensor and ensures that it lives to see an endless amount of runs.
    Thermo Resistant / Safety
    • The black coating we use on each sensor is a high temperature, thermal resistant coating, it can withstand temperatures well above anything you’d see in a distillation lab.
    • It’s nearly impossible to set one of our sensors on fire, the coating is almost completely fireproof!
    • This protects the user, the equipment, and (in worst case scenarios) the entire lab.
  • From: $8,450.00

  • The Short Path Distillation Head Bertha 100, since development in 2018, has become one of the leading standards in distillation head types in the industry. 2023 has brought the Bertha 100 to its final perfect form with 6 generations of evolution. This head comes equipped with 45/50 thermoport, 34/45 discharge port and a 100mm bore that secures to a boiling flask with o-ring and clamp. The Short Path Distillation Head Bertha 100 (previously SPD-4 MPD Big Bertha) is an extremely high vapor fractionation column head. The first section starts in the flask to retain as much heat in the column as possible. This entire column and entry into flask is isolated from the outside air and the flange fittings. The first chamber is a rough fractionation chamber with a lower rejection section that prevents any condensate from moving upwards. The center section is a secondary refinement section and will further refine the vapors. The upper third section is our patented fraction collector. The first dual stage fractionation column to ever be invented or used in distillation glassware, pilot or small scale. Can achieve 2-4 liters per hour (6 liters per hour with upgraded chilling and vacuum accessories) first pass and ready for crystallization. Vigs are not needed for this technology due to the industry first "no-vig" approach which utilizes a baffled section that extends down below the head base and into the boiling flask. • The new SPD-8 Series Heads (FC55, 100mm, 150mm) bring a fraction collecting core combined with condenser coil. If you want absolute temperature control in a head, look no further. With these types of heads, if you dip the coil temp down it will act as a violent collection of molecules dragged to the coil like a magnet. That coil would inherently distribute those lower temps right on the surface of the fraction collector dish and that would display a whole new set of efficiency within the head. All Short Path Distillation 8 Heads have a 45/50 thermoport and a 34/45 discharge arm. Short Path Distillation 8 Head in use at the lab: Instagram Demo instagram logo The condenser in this 55/50 head absorbs as much heat as possible and removes BTU energy from the vapor prior to entering the condenser arm. This allows the vacuum jacketed head to operate like it’s supposed to. The coil in the head doesn’t disturb molecular flow dynamics as it’s duty is to absorb heat before the heat affects the sides of the walls of the fraction collector as well as allows those ambient vacuum void temps to be more stable. When you get blow by in a head it means it’s just working overtime because the arm sends back fluids to the heater chiller and it can’t maintain the BTU heat removal. So if you can maintain exact temps you can bounce unwanted fractions right out of the condenser arm without over shooting flow rates. This maintains a drier vacuum in the condenser arm. 45 Key Well, 45 Well Stopper and GL18s (4) included. Lack of objectivity during the extraction process

The purpose of botanical extraction processes, regardless of solvent used, is essentially to introduce a solvent to the biomass that will bind to, strip, and help obtain as much of the desirable compounds as possible. However, extraction operators have no solid metric to base their success on, aside from color in sight glasses or laboratory testing. While observing color can be done in-line, it is a subjective metric at best. While lab results are an objective metric, it is nearly impossible to correlate in practice and can take days or even weeks to obtain after a run. While both of these are helpful techniques that should be utilized during the process, they should not be solely relied upon since they lack real-time objectivity. Subjective monitoring that is based on perception or guesswork is imprecise, inconsistent, and difficult to scale. What is the effect of this lack of molecular monitoring during extraction? Batches that are sub-optimally extracted, resulting in either low yields or potency, and even wasted solvents and time. Examples of Applications The most popular applications of the Extraction Finder are hydrocarbon and ethanol extraction. The system can be installed in-line on extractors where there are 1.5” or 2” sanitary flange connections. Multiple units can be placed at multiple points of the extraction design. Hydrocarbon extraction: The unit can be installed in-line between the material column and collection column. Pre-filtration or CRC, the unit’s live data can help you determine what flow rate optimizes both solvated mass & time. Post-filtration or CRC, it can confirm that Chlorophyll is not making it past the filter. Ethanol extraction: The unit can be installed in-line at the recirculation area. It can be used to determine solvent saturation by seeing when the solvent has absorbed the majority of Cannabinoids. The unit is so sensitive that it can even be helpful for confirmation of removal of molecules during a cleaning run.
