  • Summit Research Tech offers a 4x Hochstrom filtration package that includes essential components for filtration :

    Hochstrom Filter ™

The Hochstrom High Flow Filter is the fastest unit on the market. It’s unique design allows it to operate under half vacuum pressure for full flow. Our peers & customers have reported the high flow surface area to be equivalent to a 18-24″ table-top unit. These units have a huge basin, but small holes, really preventing it from being efficient for it’s size. A table top or small buchner filtration unit will have flow issues due to the solution warming up and redissolving past the filtration medium. You also get the fluid rushing around the filter media as well as a large surface area for liquids to warm up. We have achieved maximum efficiency in a much shorter time for filtration. This prevents items from warming up and redissolving and/or not securing. The Hochstrom filter is the last filter you will ever need to buy. Summit Research, only the best. 4x Hochstrom + 1x PIG Filtration Package.

    High Flow Paper for Hochstrom

Stage 1 - 1000pcs of 20u chemical duty papers. Stage 2 - 1000pcs of 8u chemical duty papers. Stage 3 - 500pcs of sub 1u chemical duty 100% borosilicate papers(no chemical binder grade AE). All papers made in USA with no questionable composition, and no import junk. Straight up, best high flow papers you’ll ever use.

    20L Filter Bottle

The 20L Filter Bottle is another original Summit Research product, going above and beyond to deliver a modified and custom filtration bottle. We chose to use genuine Schott media bottles. Had our shop mount the bottle on a lathe and remove the bung section while replacing it with a rodaviss female end. Summit have the highest quality modular caps custom made with male rodaviss joints. These flawless HEAVY DUTY glass filtration bottles are one of kind and found only at Summit. Accept no imitations, comes with rodaviss wet-seal parts and GL14 connections.

    PIG Filter

This patented made in USA (pressurized inert gas) PIG Filtration System eats material. At an idle flow of 500 gallons per hour under winterization temperatures reported speeds exceeding 8 gallons per minute of filtration power. We are the Sole distributor of this product in our industry. Lack of objectivity during the extraction process

The purpose of botanical extraction processes, regardless of solvent used, is essentially to introduce a solvent to the biomass that will bind to, strip, and help obtain as much of the desirable compounds as possible. However, extraction operators have no solid metric to base their success on, aside from color in sight glasses or laboratory testing. While observing color can be done in-line, it is a subjective metric at best. While lab results are an objective metric, it is nearly impossible to correlate in practice and can take days or even weeks to obtain after a run. While both of these are helpful techniques that should be utilized during the process, they should not be solely relied upon since they lack real-time objectivity. Subjective monitoring that is based on perception or guesswork is imprecise, inconsistent, and difficult to scale. What is the effect of this lack of molecular monitoring during extraction? Batches that are sub-optimally extracted, resulting in either low yields or potency, and even wasted solvents and time. Examples of Applications The most popular applications of the Extraction Finder are hydrocarbon and ethanol extraction. The system can be installed in-line on extractors where there are 1.5” or 2” sanitary flange connections. Multiple units can be placed at multiple points of the extraction design. Hydrocarbon extraction: The unit can be installed in-line between the material column and collection column. Pre-filtration or CRC, the unit’s live data can help you determine what flow rate optimizes both solvated mass & time. Post-filtration or CRC, it can confirm that Chlorophyll is not making it past the filter. Ethanol extraction: The unit can be installed in-line at the recirculation area. It can be used to determine solvent saturation by seeing when the solvent has absorbed the majority of Cannabinoids. The unit is so sensitive that it can even be helpful for confirmation of removal of molecules during a cleaning run.

  • The new SPD-8 Series Heads (FC55, 100mm, 150mm) bring a fraction collecting core combined with condenser coil. If you want absolute temperature control in a head, look no further. With these types of heads, if you dip the coil temp down it will act as a violent collection of molecules dragged to the coil like a magnet. That coil would inherently distribute those lower temps right on the surface of the fraction collector dish and that would display a whole new set of efficiency within the head. All Short Path Distillation 8 Heads have a 45/50 thermoport and a 34/45 discharge arm. Short Path Distillation 8 Head in use at the lab: Instagram Demo instagram logo The condenser in this 150mm head absorbs as much heat as possible and removes BTU energy from the vapor prior to entering the condenser arm. This allows the vacuum jacketed head to operate like it’s supposed to. The coil in the head doesn’t disturb molecular flow dynamics as it’s duty is to absorb heat before the heat affects the sides of the walls of the fraction collector as well as allows those ambient vacuum void temps to be more stable. When you get blow by in a head it means it’s just working overtime because the arm sends back fluids to the heater chiller and it can’t maintain the BTU heat removal. So if you can maintain exact temps you can bounce unwanted fractions right out of the condenser arm without over shooting flow rates. This maintains a drier vacuum in the condenser arm. • The Short Path Distillation Head Bertha 150, since development in 2018, has become one of the leading standards in distillation head types in the industry. 2023 has brought the Bertha 100 to its final perfect form with 6 generations of evolution. This head comes equipped with 45/50 thermoport, 34/45 discharge port and a 100mm bore that secures to a boiling flask with o-ring and clamp. The Short Path Distillation Head Bertha 150 (previously SPD-4 MPD Big Bertha) is an extremely high vapor fractionation column head. The first section starts in the flask to retain as much heat in the column as possible. This entire column and entry into flask is isolated from the outside air and the flange fittings. The first chamber is a rough fractionation chamber with a lower rejection section that prevents any condensate from moving upwards. The center section is a secondary refinement section and will further refine the vapors. The upper third section is our patented fraction collector. The first dual stage fractionation column to ever be invented or used in distillation glassware, pilot or small scale. Can achieve 4-6 liters per hour (8 liters per hour with upgraded chilling and vacuum accessories) first pass and ready for crystallization. Vigs are not needed for this technology due to the industry first "no-vig" approach which utilizes a baffled section that extends down below the head base and into the boiling flask. Requirement to use these heads would be a sogevac + dual e2m30 -or- sogevac + e80 -or-  sogevac + e80 + diffusion array. This particular setup benefits from a custom diffusion array and an Apollo Vacuum Controller with the inert gas sweeping feature. • First of its kind, innovation and performance meet the future of distillation. The Ultra Short Path Distillation Head (previously SPD-7) is a fascinating technology inspired by an ultra low temperature process. The Summit research SPD-7 is a horizontal head designed to fully refine products at a low temperature; preferred material required should be refined previously, or physically refined through all filtration and washing/chroma processes prior to running through this system. Material must be completely dried and full vacuum cannot be engaged if material is wet. Do not attempt to load green/black crude material. This system requires much more vacuum requirement so please keep in mind the 22 liter system takes a diffusion, and the 5 liter system can use dual e2m28/30. With a high flow triple condenser coil to GL18 adapters, the temps are dialed in throughout this horizontal head. Big bore 55/50 inlet and outlet with a traditional 29/42 discharge to flask. Wait, there's more! This head acts as a large swing arm, so you can swing and engage the flask to your targeted fraction. • Short Path Distillation Head FC55 Tall models include 55/50 main bore with a 34/45 discharge and thermoport. This is the tallest of our FC55 models for more selectivity and reduced speeds. It has multiple rows of vigreux adding more rejection. When Summit Research initially released the first fraction collector technology we knew it would be a hit. We have innovated the newest distillation technology with the industry leading high-efficiency heads. We have retrofitted all Summit Research heads to incorporate our patented distillation technology. These heads rival wiped film speeds at a fraction of the cost, and higher clarity/purity/speed. The fraction collector head offers extremely high-efficiency operational parameters unparalleled to anything available on the market. Summit delivers solutions and results to our customers coming from extensive research and design in the field of high speed, high potency, low temperature, consistent distillations day after day. The differences between the FC series heads are the heights. Lower height heads will have less selectivity with faster speeds and lower temps, taller heads will have slightly slower speeds with slightly higher temps with more selectivity. Partnered with our patented laminar path technology and the inverted cup cold trap/hardpipe kits, our customers experience smooth, fast and consistent clarity time after time. We innovate where others imitate. 100% made in USA with Schott glass. GL14s, key and well stopper included. • The Hochstrom High Flow Filter is the fastest unit on the market. It’s unique design allows it to operate under half vacuum pressure for full flow. Our peers & customers have reported the high flow surface area to be equivalent to a 18-24″ table-top unit. These units have a huge basin, but small holes, really preventing it from being efficient for it’s size. A table top or small buchner filtration unit will have flow issues due to the solution warming up & redissolving past the filtration medium. You also get the fluid rushing around the filter media as well as a large surface area for liquids to warm up. We have achieved maximum efficiency in a much shorter time for filtration. This prevents items from warming up & redissolving and / or not securing. Hochstrom filter is the last filter you will ever need to buy. Summit Research, only the best. 1x Hochstrom Filtration Package Stage 1 - 1000pcs of 20u chemical duty papers.
