These direct drive rotary vane pumps are inherently compact and vibration free. Blowers add a dimension of vacuum that tops most dual pump options. Mechanical boosters feature the unique hydro-kinetic drive that provides pump down times cut by 50%, when compared with direct drive pumps, no bypass lines or pressure switches required, universal voltage motors, reduced capital and operating costs, air cooled motors – with water cooled options, and quiet, minimum vibration. Operating at relatively low pressures, the mechanical booster pump is not exposed to the same concentrations of corrosive process media as is the backing pump, which makes it highly reliable. Comes with Pump, Blower, MF100 filter and I 19 Standard fluid.   To purchase, please contact Summit Research at 831-226-2948 or by eMail. • The Extraction Finder is a real-time molecular monitoring system for botanical extraction, which is essential for consistently maximizing the amount of extracted compounds within a given plant material. This robust model will serve hydrocarbon and ethanol extractions. Not rated for use with C02 extractions. The robust housing, which fully encloses the molecular sensor, can be easily installed in-line in the extraction design on sanitary flange end clamps. A 30′ sensor cable feeds this information to a high-quality touch-screen, which displays real-time levels of Cannabinoids, Chlorophyll and Lipids. The Extraction Finder’s digital readout can be used to help operators learn about and dial-in their process, such as optimizing flow rate, solvent amount, filter efficiency, and general quality assurance and control. In the long run, this system will be your best friend in dialing-in the most effective standard operating procedures (SOPs). Extraction Sensor
    • Housed and enclosed by the Extraction Sensor Housing
    • Connects and transmits to the digital display via 30′ sensor cable

Lack of objectivity during the extraction process

The purpose of botanical extraction processes, regardless of solvent used, is essentially to introduce a solvent to the biomass that will bind to, strip, and help obtain as much of the desirable compounds as possible. However, extraction operators have no solid metric to base their success on, aside from color in sight glasses or laboratory testing. While observing color can be done in-line, it is a subjective metric at best. While lab results are an objective metric, it is nearly impossible to correlate in practice and can take days or even weeks to obtain after a run. While both of these are helpful techniques that should be utilized during the process, they should not be solely relied upon since they lack real-time objectivity. Subjective monitoring that is based on perception or guesswork is imprecise, inconsistent, and difficult to scale. What is the effect of this lack of molecular monitoring during extraction? Batches that are sub-optimally extracted, resulting in either low yields or potency, and even wasted solvents and time. Examples of Applications The most popular applications of the Extraction Finder are hydrocarbon and ethanol extraction. The system can be installed in-line on extractors where there are 1.5” or 2” sanitary flange connections. Multiple units can be placed at multiple points of the extraction design. Hydrocarbon extraction: The unit can be installed in-line between the material column and collection column. Pre-filtration or CRC, the unit’s live data can help you determine what flow rate optimizes both solvated mass & time. Post-filtration or CRC, it can confirm that Chlorophyll is not making it past the filter. Ethanol extraction: The unit can be installed in-line at the recirculation area. It can be used to determine solvent saturation by seeing when the solvent has absorbed the majority of Cannabinoids. The unit is so sensitive that it can even be helpful for confirmation of removal of molecules during a cleaning run.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Which fractions can the Fraction Finder detect? During short-path distillation, it can distinguish what is colloquially known as “Heads”, “Main Bodies”, and “Tails”. Click here for a list of molecules, such as Delta-9 and more. What units of measure does the Fraction Finder digital readout use?  The system uses Nanometers (nm) and Intensity (au). Can the Fraction Finder sensor fit on size 24 glass? If you have size 24 glass, order our 24/40 adapter, which can fit a size 29 sensor.  What heat can the Fraction Finder sensor handle? The Fraction Finder sensor can handle around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. If you plan to exceed these limits, order one of our Hot Tech Adapters. Does the Fraction Finder work the same as an HPLC? Both systems use spectroscopic analysis to identify chemicals. However, the type of spectroscopy that detection method and wavelength regime are different. The Fraction Finder operates uses fluorescence, whereas HPLCs utilize absorption.

Through innovative live distillate monitoring, Fraction Finding can help increase potency on every distillation pass. Now, you can forget the old ways of relying on guesswork and eyesight, and instead, identify the contents of a flow through a glass tube in real time. The Fraction Finder Ultra Sensitive package is unique in that - not only does it serve distillation and extraction processes - but also serves Chromatography, Conversion Reaction, and other processes that require more extreme detection. For certain processes, highly sensitive process monitoring is essential. Generally speaking, the more solvent involved in the process means the more sensitive the sensor needs to be. With that in mind, the ULTRA was created. If you have the original Fraction Finder, you have the option to upgrade to a standalone ULTRA Sensor for $1,350. Please call us for more details. Use this sensor on any chromatography column with the GL18 to #34 adapter. The Fraction Finder Sensor #34 consists of an optical light pulse and detector, acting as “the eyes” of the system. It wraps around a distillation/chromatography setup tube and connects to the Fraction Finder display to track important data on the process.

Information common with all Fraction Finder sensors

These sensors are black for a reason:
    • Black absorbs all light while blocking out ambient light.
    • This leads to better signaling and the most valid data possible transmitting to the Fraction Finder display.
    • For example, a white sensor wouldn’t work because it would reflect the light into your glassware and into the sensor, harming the reading.
    Chemical Resistant
    • This reduces any degradation from solvents, crude oils, extracts, etc..
    • This protects the sensor and ensures that it lives to see an endless amount of runs.
    Thermo Resistant / Safety
    • The black coating we use on each sensor is a high temperature, thermal resistant coating, it can withstand temperatures well above anything you’d see in a distillation lab.
    • It’s nearly impossible to set one of our sensors on fire, the coating is almost completely fireproof!
    • This protects the user, the equipment, and (in worst case scenarios) the entire lab.
