That coil would inherently distribute those lower temps right on the surface of the fraction collector dish and that would display a whole new set of efficiency within the head. The condenser in this 60mm head absorbs as much heat as possible and removes BTU energy from the vapor prior to entering the condenser arm. This allows the vacuum jacketed head to operate like it’s supposed to. The coil in the head doesn’t disturb molecular flow dynamics as it’s duty is to absorb heat before the heat affects the sides of the walls of the fraction collector as well as allows those ambient vacuum void temps to be more stable. When you get blow by in a head it means it’s just working overtime because the arm sends back fluids to the heater chiller and it can’t maintain the BTU heat removal. So if you can maintain exact temps you can bounce unwanted fractions right out of the condenser arm without over shooting flow rates. This maintains a drier vacuum in the condenser arm.

The Ultra Short Path Distillation Micro Head (previously SPD-7.1) is a fascinating technology inspired by an ultra low temperature process. The Summit research SPD-7.1 is a horizontal head designed to fully refine products at a low temperature; preferred material required should be refined previously, or physically refined through all filtration and washing/chroma processes prior to running through this system. Material must be completely dried and full vacuum cannot be engaged if material is wet. Do not attempt to load green/black crude material. This system requires much more vacuum requirement so please keep in mind the 22 liter system takes a diffusion, and the 5 liter system can use dual e2m28/30. With a high flow dual condenser coil to GL18 adapters, the temps are dialed in throughout this horizontal head. Big bore 45/50 inlet and outlet with a traditional 29/42 discharge to flask. The Short Path Distillation Head FC71 includes a 71/60 main bore with a 34/45 discharge and 34/45 thermoport. The 71 mm can handle bigger systems and a lot of product. A very versatile head that we can cater towards your needs. Comes with 34 key, 34 stopper well and GL14s. This limited edition short path distillation head (along with boiling flask) is 'made to order' and carries longer lead times than most units. Please call us if you need an exact time frame. As always, Summit uses 100% best quality glass blanks that are THICKER and built BEYOND STANDARDS made right here in the USA. Our glassware is made specifically for efficiency and durability. Short Path Distillation Head FC55 Tall models include 55/50 main bore with a 34/45 discharge and thermoport. This is the tallest of our FC55 models for more selectivity and reduced speeds. It has multiple rows of vigreux adding more rejection. When Summit Research initially released the first fraction collector technology we knew it would be a hit. We have innovated the newest distillation technology with the industry leading high-efficiency heads. We have retrofitted all Summit Research heads to incorporate our patented distillation technology. These heads rival wiped film speeds at a fraction of the cost, and higher clarity/purity/speed. The fraction collector head offers extremely high-efficiency operational parameters unparalleled to anything available on the market. Summit delivers solutions and results to our customers coming from extensive research and design in the field of high speed, high potency, low temperature, consistent distillations day after day. The differences between the FC series heads are the heights. Lower height heads will have less selectivity with faster speeds and lower temps, taller heads will have slightly slower speeds with slightly higher temps with more selectivity.
