Vacuum Control

  • The Apollo Proportional Vacuum Controller is an advanced scientific laboratory vacuum controller, display, digital readout, and vacuum live reading analysis device. This version of the Apollo can service up to FOUR REMOTE vacuum sensors of any kind with up to FOUR REMOTE vacuum valves that are controlled by the Digi-Vac dinamo proportional live CFM control valve. KF25 flanges, barbed breather valve. This device is essential for high speed rotary evaporation control and crucial for controlling and even increasing recovery rates on falling film evaporation machines. Those might be the top two, but the possibilities are rising with new tech that have KF25 fitment. The device has a continuous CFM open-close valve that never actually stops moving. Typically it will not close but the effect is reached with the ability to increase or decrease CFM size allowing to maintain vacuum select point control. If the set point comes up, it will close the valve. If the set point goes down it will open the valve. Typically very minute movements inside make a huge performance difference and increase in vacuum pump performance allowing continual cfm-to-micron control. This Apollo controller can be expanded but comes with ONE EXTERNAL COUPLED device standard. This is an Apollo brain unit with a chemical duty touch screen, with remote valve/sensor. Standard options are as follows:
    • The first board location is equipped by summit with one sensor designed for aggressive solvent use and one proportional valve (dinamo valve).
Further up-gradable options are as follows:
    • Three more slots are available to accept up to three more sensors and three more valves.
    • The additional optional upgrade is only several hundred dollars for each additional proportional valve control added-on.  any length cable can be used, please inform us for a specialty need with longer cables than what is supplied.

  • The Apollo Vacuum Controller is an advanced scientific laboratory vacuum controller, display, digital readout, and vacuum live reading analysis device. (Pictured here shows location of the display and first 536 sensor {above}. Second picture shows location of second 536 sensor off the vacuum pump line {below}) This controller not only shows real time data for your laboratory process, it can also be used as a live pump down curve testing device for vacuum pumps in your lab. From seeing guaranteed accurate readings in your short path system to identifying the health of your pump, the Apollo is the most advanced tool in your arsenal when it comes to vacuum control with accuracy and quality second to none. All Summit hardware is now compatible with the new free ATHENA software. Here is a Youtube to help install. Do you have a rotary evaporator or falling film that needs full vacuum control? Take a look at the Proportional Vacuum Controller.   Standard options:
    • The first two pre-installed board locations have two 536 cleanable sensors (KF25), factory calibrated to a NIST certified test bench on each device prior to shipping. Usually one sensor is attached to the laminar portion of a short path to tell you what is going on in the system, and the second is attached to the pump to tell you the health and performance of the pump array in use.
    • A third board location is pre-installed and pre-calibrated for the use of a UHVP sensor (ultra high vacuum pressure) which is an option to be added-on if the user wants to use a third pump bay accessory like a diffusion pump or turbo pump etc. without any further needed upgrades to the Apollo itself.
    • A fourth board location is pre-installed for phantom power. There are two phantom power ports used to control the optional added-on feature on external control valves.  Each are independently controlled by the Apollo core software built in. With no needed upgrades to the Apollo itself.
    • A fifth board location is pre-installed with sweep valve controlling hardware.
This device comes with the control box (brain), the digital chemical duty touch screen, two 536 sensors and all necessary device cables and cords. (everything in last picture) Spec Sheet Button Upgrades are:
    • Inert gas sweep valve kit and pressure regulator for turbo charging system speeds in various processes.
    • Up to two phantom powered Edwards bellow valves for vacuum valve control of wet or dry vacuum operation.
    • UHVP Sensor for additional diffusion or turbo control.
Custom configurations allow the Apollo to be configured directly from summit with up to four sensors, and four control valves, both proportional and on/off style. Please inquire if you want your Apollo Vacuum Controller you've purchased expanded and/or modified.

  • Mechanical valve for the use with Apollo Vacuum Controller or SVG-3 This KF25 elbow valve works by throttling the pressure between the vacuum pump and the process to control the vacuum level or to isolate the vacuum pump | Enables vacuum pressure control using a solenoid valve for throttling pump suction
    • Control range: 10 millitorr to 6 Torr
    • Measurement range: 1 millitorr to 760 Torr
    • Range with accuracy: 10 millitorr to 6 Torr
    • Benefits of throttle control:  With the KF25 1″ orifice you get better and faster throughput | ideal for processing high volumes | Extends life of pump by enabling pump to run closer to it’s base pressure
    • Vacuum control—Regulate the vacuum level between the vacuum pump and the chamber or process. It creates a pressure drop between the two, thereby allowing the process to operate at a set pressure while the pumps’ pressure varies based on loading. Helps prolong the life of your vacuum pump!
    • Vacuum controller applications: Vacuum Ovens,  Vacuum Furnaces, Vacuum Bagging or Composites
    • Botanical processing: Rotary Evaporation, Short Path Distillation (1 Head Kit), Extractions
    • Use case example— To maintain specific pressure levels in a vacuum oven at about 2 Torr to avoid removing target terpenes and only removing water
  • The Edwards Speedivalve (sp25k) is a diaphragm sealed in-line, isolation valve. The construction consists essentially of a flexible elastomeric diaphragm which is sealed onto a lightly polished seat by a screw thread mechanism. The valve terminates in NW flanges and can be pipeline supported or panel mounted. Fits on all your KF25 flanges. Summit recommends these KF25 parts for this item:
Easy to operate with visual indication of valve open (SP10K to SP25K). Leak tight to better than 10-6 mbar ls-1 / 8 x 10-7 Torr ls-1. Diaphragm completely isolates mechanism from vacuum system. Will withstand 9 bar overpressure (SP10K to SP40K, with Co-Seal)
